LNG ships are called "super-refrigerated vehicles on the sea", and their service environment is at a very low temperature of minus 163 degrees Celsius. This requires that the steel for LNG storage tanks must have low temperature resistance, often using Invar steel or 9Ni steel. At present, a complete series of nickel steels such as 0.5Ni steel, 2.5Ni steel, 3.5Ni steel, 5Ni steel, and 9Ni steel have been formed in the field of low-temperature steel. China has also developed relatively mature 3.5Ni steel and 5Ni steel. And 9Ni steel, and successfully used in the construction of low-temperature transport ships.

Strip steel is a kind of steel plate with thin thickness, narrow width and long length. Strip steel can be made of common carbon steel, carbon structural steel, spring steel, tool steel, stainless steel, etc. Strip steel has the advantages of high dimensional accuracy, good surface quality, easy processing and material saving. There are many kinds of strip steel, CCS F32 hull steel plate. Hot rolled steel strip is mainly used for cold-rolled billets, cold-formed steel billets, welded steel pipe billets, manufacture of bicycles and small hardware products.

According to the new report of the World Steel Association (worldsteel), the world crude steel production for the 64 countries has reached to143.3 million tonnes (Mt) in February 2020, a 2.8% increase compared to February 2019. China’s CCS F32 hull steel plate, crude steel production for February 2020 was 74.8 Mt, an increase of 5.0% compared to February 2019. India produced 9.6 Mt of crude steel in February 2020, up 1.5% on February 2019. Japan produced 7.9 Mt of crude steel in February 2020, up 2.2% on February 2019.
