ASME SA537 pressure vessel uses heat-treated carbon-manganese-silicon steel plate.
The steel plates supplied by this standard are divided into three categories, namely SA537Gr1, SA537Gr2, and SA537Gr3. The maximum thickness of steel plates corresponding to these three grades is limited to: SA537Gr1 is not more than 100mm;
The thickness of SA537Gr2 does not exceed 150mm;
The thickness of SA537Gr3 does not exceed 150mm.

The mechanical properties of 20MnV steel are as follows: tensile strength 785 MPa, yield strength 590 MPa, elongation after fracture 10%, reduction of area 40%, impact absorption energy 55 J. CCS grade D hull shipbuilding plate, 20MnV steel has good properties, good strength, toughness and plasticity, good hardenability and machinability. After carburizing, 20MnV steel can be directly quenched without secondary quenching to improve the core structure. The weldability of 20MnV steel is good, but there is temper brittleness at 300-360 ℃ during heat treatment.

Laser cutting CCS grade D hull shipbuilding plate has no burr, wrinkle and precision is high. It is superior to plasma cutting. Laser cutting has good cutting quality, narrow cutting width (generally 0.1-0.5m m), high accuracy (generally 0.1-0.4mm hole center distance error, 0.1-0.5mm contour dimension error), good surface roughness (generally Ra is 12.5-25μm), and the CCS grade D hull shipbuilding plate cutting seam can be welded without further processing. Fast cutting speed: for example, with 2kW laser power, the cutting speed of 8mm thick carbon steel is 1.6m/min.
