The scrap steel is added into the furnace together with the charge, and smelted according to the conventional process. After the CCS grade B salvage ship steel steel is tapped, deoxidizers and alloys are added. After the molten steel is treated with argon blowing, the molten steel is cast. By adding rare earth elements to the steel, the CCS grade B salvage ship steel weathering steel is purified and the content of inclusions is greatly reduced.

Chemical composition of 65Mn steel: C 0.62-0.70, Si 0.17-0.37, Mn 0.90-1.20, Cr ≤ 0.25, Ni ≤ 0.30, Cu ≤ 0.25. 65Mn steel mechanical properties: tensile strength: ≥735 Mpa, yield strength: ≥430 Mpa, elongation after fracture: ≥9%, reduction of area: 30%, impact absorbed energy: no impact. CCS grade B salvage ship steel, 65Mn steel has high strength, high hardenability, less decarburization tendency, overheat sensitivity, easy to produce quenching cracks and temper brittleness. 65Mn steel is used for making various flat and round springs, leaf springs, spring rings, valve springs, steel wire cold coil springs, clutch springs of light trucks and cars.
