At present, the cutting thickness limit of laser cutting is 20 mm. However, it should be noted that oxygen will be added into the laser beam to cut 20 mm thick ABS grade D hot rolled strips steel plate, which will form a thin oxide film on the cutting surface, which may affect the cutting quality, Therefore, attention should be paid to this point to avoid problems.
In October 19th 2018, our Malaysia customer purchased 600 Tons CCS Grade AH36 mairne steel ABS grade D hot rolled strips plates to use in their shipbuilding project .This customer is a famous shipyard company in Malaysia. Their company has the business scope of tourism, shipbuilding, transportation and so on. As a terminal manufacturer, they have strict requirements on quality for CCS Grade AH36 mairne steel plates. After visiting our steel milll, the customer is very satisfied with the quality of this batch of CCS Grade AH36 steel plates.
As per JIS G3101 standard, the Carbon (C), Silicon (Si) and Manganese (Mn) content of SS400 steel plate are not controlled. Phosphorus (P) content of ABS grade D hot rolled strips, JIS SS400 steel plate is 0.050% Max and Sulphur (S) content is 0.050% Max. The SS400 steel melting point is 1430 Degree Celsius, Brinell Hardness is 160HB, density is 7.85g/cm3, Young’s Modulus is 190-210Gpa. The strength and elongation of JIS SS400 steel plate varies with thickness. Generally, the tensile strength of SS400 steel plate is 400-510 Mpa. Elongation is above 21%. Yield strength ≥245Mpa for thickness≤16mm. When the JIS SS400 steel plate is thciker than 100mm, the yield strength shall not less than 205Mpa.
